What to Expect

The WeFinWise Investment Competition is an interactive experience designed to introduce participants to the fundamentals of investing through hands-on practice.

Participants will be given a virtual portfolio of $100,000 to invest independently over a period of two months. The competition will be done in SMG summer session and all information on how to access the website and how to start competing will be sent on Monday June 29th. From June 29 to August 14 these participants will use real-world market data and analytics, each participant will build and manage their own portfolio, track its performance, and make investment decisions based on their own research and strategy.

At the conclusion of the competition, the participant whose portfolio achieves the highest overall value will be recognized and awarded a cash prize of $100 and the second place will win $50.

From the knowledge gained by the financial literacy workshop for participants coming to wefinwise again and background knowledge from others, both types of participants will be able to compete in a hands on challenge
